Western States Envelope and Label honored for Graphic Excellence

Western States Envelope and Label recently won a Best of Division Award in the Great Lakes Graphics Association 2015 Graphic Excellence competition.  The envelope, adorned with a Color-Logic image, was entered in the Specialty Inks or Coatings, Fragrances, or Invisible Inks Division.

Commenting on the award, Mark Geeves, Color-Logic director of sales and marketing, says: The winning Western States envelope is an excellent example of how offset-printed direct mail can be enhanced at low cost with Color-Logic. The envelope was printed with only five inks – silver plus CMYK – on 65lb Sterling Premium Gloss from Verso, using the Color-Logic Process Metallic Color System.”

Overall, Western States won 1 Best of Category Award, 1 Best of Division Award, 4 Awards of Excellence, and 4 Certificates of Merit. Winning entries included a Best of Category in the Flexo Narrow Web Labels and Wraps Category: Foil Embossed Olive Oil Labels. These specialty labels were produced for a high-end olive oil brand. The foil-embossing and crisp flexo printing gave this product the elegant look the customer was looking for.
